S-rating or the VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentage (might differ with each style): 

S0 = 80–100% VLT, for night skiing or riding, with a light or no tint

S1 = 43–80% VLT, for dark and overcast conditions, with a light tint

S2 = 18–43% VLT, for variable sun conditions, with a medium tint

S3 = 8–18% VLT, for sunny conditions, with a dark tint

S4 = 0–8% VLT, for bright sun and clear skies, with a very dark tint
